The Arctic PRIZE project sailed in the Arctic Ocean on a research cruise during April 2018. The scientists on-board the Norwegian research vessel R/V Helmer Hanssen were measuring the important changes in seawater properties during the transition from winter to spring.

Their measurements help to identify how climate change impacts processes happening in the Arctic Ocean that influence the Arctic ecosystem and its biogeochemistry.
