Dr Hiroshi Sumata

Hiroshi Sumata is a physical oceanographer working at sea ice physics group in Alfred-Wegener-Institute Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polar- und Meeresforschung (AWI) in Germany.

His main research interests are, sea ice and ocean dynamics in polar seas, and their linkage to the global climate.

Within the APEAR project, he will support analyses of physical field of the Arctic Ocean based on his expertise, physical oceanography and sea ice physics.

APEAR is co-funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and by NERC.
